AS Levira is a content creation and distribution provider to Broadcast, Telecommunications and Multi-Media companies. It is 51% Estonian state owned, 49% by the TDF Group. In 2007 it set out to build a multi-channel playout centre, starting with two channels (one SD one HD), and now in 2010 has the capacity for 30 channels.
Over a three year period the playout centre evolved from two channels to a multi-channel centre with multiple playout types, HD, SD, HD/SD simultaneously, Time Delayed, Advertising Insertion, Variable Time Delay and Live, whilst implementing new ingest, re-purposing, MAM and storage solutions, which included migrating around 70TB of archive storage from one system to another.
